I have a kitchen tip for you to separate cooking oil from food particles after frying. For every 240 milliliters (1 cup) of oil you have used, mix 10 grams (one tablespoon) of cornstarch with 60 milliliters (¼ cup) of water. Pour the mixture into the cooled oil and gently heat over low heat for approximately 10 minutes, taking care not to let the oil simmer. As the oil heats up, the cornstarch will clump the food solids together. Scrape the bottom with a rubber spatula to loosen any stuck pieces. Then set a fine-mesh strainer over a heat-proof container and pour the oil through the strainer to separate the solid cornstarch mass from the oil. Let the oil cool off completely. Next, place a lid on the container to seal it and store in the refrigerator or freezer for later use. Be sure to let it warm up to room temperature prior to using it next time.

It’s pretty easy to guess what’s coming next. Yes, that’s right, the joke of the day! It’s called “Late & Early.”

For the past month, Kent had been consistently late to work.

“You keep on arriving too late to the office – always well past 9 o’clock! What are you going to do to change your schedule?”

“Well, I’m not sure. What would you like me to do?”

“Does the word ‘early’ mean anything to you?”

“OK, I will adjust my schedule by leaving early!”

?!

And now we have a heartline from Dinali in Sri Lanka
