A September 2024 article by PETA describes a future in which the world’s population chooses the loving vegan diet. Food is available for all, and the land used to grow plants for human food increases by 75%. In addition, humans stop killing animal-people for food, and 11 million deaths are prevented yearly as our health improves through the vegan diet, including less cancer, heart disease and diabetes, and fewer strokes. The likelihood of zoonotic diseases and severity of pandemics as well as antibiotic resistance is reduced. PETA is a Shining World Compassion Award recipient Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) has previously donated US$165,000 to support PETA and its affiliates’ work.
