“So long, bhikkhus, in regard to these Four Noble Truths as they really are in their three phases and twelve aspects -knowledge and vision as it really is was not thoroughly purified, for that long, monks, I did not claim to this world with its gods, Mara, and Brahma, in this generation with its ascetics and brahmins, its gods and humans, that I was awakened to the unsurpassed complete enlightenment. But when to me, monks, in regard to these four noble truths - as they really are in their three phases and twelve aspects - knowledge and vision as it really is was thoroughly purified, then monks, I declared to the world with it gods, Mara, and Brahma, in this generation with its ascetics and brahmins, its gods and humans, that I was fully awakened with unsurpassed perfect enlightenment.”
