Formally beginning in 1946, the Cannes Film Festival is an annual 12-day event held in the beautiful city, Cannes, of the French Riviera. Considered one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world. The 71st edition of Cannes Film Festival ran from May 8 to 19, 2018. The Spanish film "Everybody Knows" opened the festival, and the Japanese Film "Shoplifters", won the most prestigious Palme d'Or. One of the nominees for the Cannes film award in the Special Screening selection was the French documentary "Libre," or "To the Four Winds."
